Ipswich have Danny
Haynes as their only fit striker after Adam Proudlock is out with a knee
knock, while manager Joe Royle has ruled out fellow forwards Nicky
Forster and Dean Bowditch. Leading scorer Sam Parkin is out until
March with a broken ankle. Skipper and midfielder Jim Magilton is
the latest injury doubt with sciatica, while defender Sito Castro missed
training on Thursday with a knock. Centre-back Richard Naylor
returns after serving a one-match ban and Kevin Horlock (midfield) came
through a reserve game at Arsenal on Wednesday.
Portsmouth
include recent new signing Emmanuel Olisadebe in their squad and
have Richard Hughes back from suspension for the trip to Ipswich in the
FA Cup. However, the signing of Zimbabwe striker Benjani Mwaruwari, for
a club record £4.1million from Auxerre, appears to have come too late to
make him eligible for the third-round tie at Portman Road. Goalkeeper
Jamie Ashdown is still out with a hamstring injury.
