Nigel Clough is sweating on the fitness of defender Gary Rowett, who has
reported back and hamstring niggles. Ryan Austin is available after a
shoulder injury and Chris Hall following a calf strain, so both should
play.
Paul Scholes has been ruled out of Manchester United's squad after
failing to fully recover from the head injury he suffered at Birmingham
on December 28. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to start his first game
since May 2004. Alan Smith is back after a recent chest infection but
there is no place for new signing Nemanja Vidic, who has been restricted
to endurance work as he builds up his fitness following his recent
arrival from Spartak Moscow.
