Newcastle welcome
back Celestine Babayaro, who has been sidelined since he limped off with
a thigh injury in the FA Cup defeat at Chelsea on March 22.
Wigan will be without Stephane Henchoz and David Connolly due to
hamstring injuries. manager Paul Jewell has vowed to make changes for
the game in an effort to give fringe players a run out over the final
five fixtures of the season.
10th placed
Newcastle virtually have nothing much to play for but to maintain a
winning run after back to back victories. Last weekend saw them
impressively saw off a makeshift Middlesbrough side 2-1 at the Riverside
just after a 3-1 home win over Champions League chasing and 4th spot
Tottenham. Revenge will be on their minds after losing twice to Wigan
this term, in the league and the Carling Cup competition both away at
the JJB stadium. 8th placed Wigan are still within a mathematical chance
to clinch a UEFA Cup slot, 6 points off with 5 games remaining. They
play better as an away side, unbeaten in last 6 league outings on their
travels.
