Portsmouth record
signing Benjani Mwaruwari will delay a knee operation until the end of
the season to boost his side's survival fight. Striker Svetoslav Todorov
and fit-again defender Dejan Stefanovic are both in contention for
places in the starting line-up.
Blackburn manager Mark Hughes has no fresh injury worries to contend
with.
With six matches remaining and on current form Blackburn are firmly on
course for a top-six finish plus European football next season. 3
straight wins leave 2nd from the bottom Portsmouth in confident mood in
their run-in for Premiership survival though still remain within the
relegation mire. With 5 of their last 7 games here at Fratton Park there
is a good chance they can make it. It is no easy task including the
likes of Arsenal, Middlesbrough and Liverpool among the remaining 5.
Could start with a win here against a Blackburn side that has just ended
a run of 3 straight league defeats on the road with a narrow 1-0 win
over bottom club Sunderland.
