Manchester United
entertain Barnet at Old Trafford and assistant coach Queiroz confirmed
the starting line-up will include its usual combination of fringe
players, recovering first-teamers and fresh faces, with up to four
pencilled in for their starting debuts. Defensive duo Adam Eckersley and
Danny Simpson, striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and midfielder Lee Martin,
recruited for £1million as a 16-year-old last summer, are all set to
play, alongside continental pair Gerard Pique and Giuseppe Rossi. Wes
Brown makes his first appearance for three months, while goalkeeper Tim
Howard gets a rare start after lost his first place to Edwin van der Sar.
League 2 Barnet have
performed superbly in the Carling Cup, earning wins over League One side
Bristol City and Coca-Cola Championship club Plymouth. But they have not
won a league game since August 20 and are only two points above the
relegation zone despite fter a fine start following their promotion from
the Conference last season. Barnet will be without defender Simon Clist
and midfielder Ben Bowditch, who have groin injuries.
